Martine Kelsey

Martine Kelsey is a singer/songwriter based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her debut album “Here to Stay” is composed of 13 original songs, which had been written (music and lyrics) by Martine. The “Here to Stay” album, which was of the Christian Contemporary genre received nominations from the East Coast Music Awards, Canadian Gospel Music Awards and was awarded the Contemporary Artist of the year award at the 2004 Canadian Mercy Awards.

After Martine’s debut album release, she was active touring, sharing the stage with other Prominent artists including: Starfield, Downhere, The Silent, The Toronto Mass Choir, Steve Green and also performed live in front of thousands of music fans at two Rolling Stone Pre-Concert events . Martine was also featured on National televised appearances with Global’s 100 Huntley Street, CTV, CBC as well as local stations which in all have permitted her to play to a wide viewing audience.

In 2007 Martine Kelsey worked with Christian Record Label “Avante Records” in Winnipeg, MB, taking part in several major Canadian tours such as the Beautiful Unique Girl Tour with Juno Award Winner Amanda Faulk and extensively touring with 2-time Grammy Award Nominee Fresh I.E. including shared events with other great American and Canadian Artists including: Family Force 5, Starfield and Jon Buller. Martine was also featured on Fresh I.E.’s 2008 album “Fresh out da Oven” (Lockjaw) which charted in top 10’s in Canada and the U.S. and included her involvement with Fresh I.E.’s latest award winning Music Video titled “Crystal” Produced by Original Pictures. In 2009 Martine took time away from performing to complete writing on 18 new songs including her new single, “A Mother’s Song” which was recorded in Toronto by Legendary Producer/Engineer “Nick Blagona.” (The Police, BeeGee’s, GooGoo Dolls, AlexisonFire, etc.) This also led to her performing her new single live for the David Foster Organization with great reviews. Martine Kelsey’s new single “A Mother’s Song” is currently being played on National Christian Radio and is performing out of Halifax, NS while working on her new album slated for release in 2010.
