Chelsea Nisbett
Halifax based artist, Chelsea Nisbett, has a multi-cultural background and wide spectrum of musical influences that cause her to create a new sound infusing acoustic rock, jazz, rhythm n' blues and soul. All this coupled with her soul-touching lyrics makes for nothing short of a truly captivating songwriter and performer.
Chelsea's debut CD, New Beginnings, garnered the young singer-songwriter an East Coast Music Award for Gospel Recording of the Year and her song "Slow Down" was recognized as Jazz/Blues Song of the Year at the Canadian Gospel Music Association's Covenant Awards.
Nisbett has been singing ever since she can remember. Throughout her school years, she sang in choirs at both school and church and eventually gained experience as a soloist. She has had the privilege of sharing the stage with successful musicians such as the Jeff Somers Band, Gary Beals and internationally renowned group Avalon.
She credits most of her musical experience to the church, where she began singing and playing guitar. Chelsea is now one of the worship leaders at her church and really enjoys this ministry. She knows that God has given her this gift of music and she is so thankful that she has the opportunity to change someone's world with her voice.
