Godsent

Godsent

Godsent has been singing at churches and fundraising events throughout Cape Breton and the Maritimes for the last ten years. The group started as a youth choir at First United Church in Sydney. Many members have come and gone, but over the last 3-4 years Godsent has become a more established group comprised of 9 girls from age 14-22, and a wonderful back-up band. They share a love of singing a mixture of gospel and contemporary music, and a willingness to volunteer their time and talents to help others in the community.

Godsent have played along-side and opened for such known artists as Eric Angus Whyte, The Burke Family, Life Support, Gordie Sampson, Matt Minglewood, and many others. They have travelled to Bermuda and have also performed on the cruise ship Norwegian Majesty. Godsent has performed in many Christian music concerts and events including Alive on the Island Festival of Christian Unity in 2009.

The girls, along with their bass player Sandy Greig and director/pianist/guitarist Keith Burton, released their first, self-titled, Cd, "Godsent" in August 2009. This recording is a blend of some of the old favorite gospel songs, with their own unique arragements, along with several original songs written by Keith and Frances Burton and arranged by Holley Muise.

For more info on “Godsent” and their upcomming performances, check out their page on Facebook or Myspace or contact Keith Burton or Holley Muise.
